Prankster

So I had to post this up.
First the disclaimer: We do not have any idea where my son got this idea. It is not in any shows that he watches, etc.
My almost 5 year old decides to take a red marker and color all over his hand and fingers. He then goes into the kitchen where my husband is and starts to hold his hand and say, " Daddy! Look at my hand! Ow!!"
My husband has the normal reaction any parent would seeing a red hand, he started freaking out.
My son then starts laughing and says it's okay, it's just marker.
So my question is, when do children learn to be pranksters.. I remember doing such things as a kid but it facinates me when a child can figure it out themselves.
That was a good chuckle..

The Set-up

So it is that time of year for the Christmas and bday season in our household. We have finally set up the decor and are having a party tomorrow for the one turning 2!! Funny how having a second boy turning two makes me wonder what the heck to get him since he gets everything of his brothers anyway! But he did not have a tricycle, so we will see how that goes over. The big one is thinking he will get presents and saw Santa today and even mailed a letter to him! Hopefully he doesn't think Christmas is everyday!

Please sir, can I have some more

I forgot to add this..
So the boys are learning the bedtime routine, and the 2 year old seems to actually understand he can't leave the room. We know this because typically, the older one will stay in bed, and the younger one will come out or open the door and it is the struggle of bedtime.
Well he now knows he can't leave and proved this by standing in the doorway with his cup and proceeded to reach out as far as he could without actually leaving and straining to say "cuuuppp plleeeeeaasee." He looked like a poor prisnor asking for some more. But as soon as I filled it up, he ran off into his bed.
Very cute...

Homemaker- baby maker

So it is surprising how much of a homemaker I am becoming. The homeschooling is going so awesome and I am having a good feeling that it will be okay. I have been hearing about unschooling which sounds neat. Some people think that you shouldn't get limits on TV or games and I can say that is true for a young kid like mine since even today after watching Magic School Bus about the water cycle, he wanted to do school to talk about it. It was great. He also actually wanted to do letters, this week is B. It was so wonderful.
The babymaker note, I have to up the insulin and I see the OB doc every 2 weeks in DEC and every week in JAN. I got lost on the way to the other office today and walked about 45 min looking and was 30 min late but they were okay with it.
Baby is fine, week 30 now, not huge and had non stress test, all is well so far, yay! Just have to take a shot at night...boohoo.

Thanksgiving Flash

Today is a day everyone reflects on what they are most thankful for. I know I will always say my children, mainly because they are a source of entertainment. Today's fond tidbit is brought to us by the Mighty O.
We decided that today was a relax and go with the flow and not really clean too much kind of day. So we had a fort up in the living room and couch cushions for bedding underneath. Played Super Mario Brothers, brought me back to my youthful days.
We had a boneless skinless turkey breast and it was great as usual (kudos to me). Then later we were watching a movie in the living room and the boys were jumping around having fun and we noticed that the Mighty O had shorts on under his sweat pants. So we asked him if he was hot to just take off the pants, so he did. Well I then questioned whether or not he thought those shorts were underwear. He proceeded to inform me that no, they were shorts and he didn't have any underwear. He at the same time showed me by pulling down the front of his pants to show me he wasn't wearing any underwear.
Good giggle for the night.
I am thankful for the crazy memories that my children bring me and for pain relief during labor.

Is it chocolate or is it poop?

Now I am attempting only one blog a day, but I had to share this jewel of a story. It has been yet another busy day for the Codd boys and mom. First school, then baking some cupcakes, then off to the gym to play and walking home, then the dinner adventure (the house was clean, until I had to make dinner and I came out of the kitchen and poof, in 20min it was trashed).
But this gem comes from bedtime. Marshall finished bathing them and got them in their bedroom (they share a room). He found a cup, Marek's of course, and gave it to me and we were looking at this strange mass that was stuck on the cup. It appeared to be part of a white chocolate chip cranberry cookie I made the night before but upon closer inspection (including the hubby sniff test) it was indeed poop. Of course I thought of the movie baby momma with the classic line that is the title, but we actual argued whether it was cookie or poop for about 5 min. Meanwhile Odin is laughing because we are saying poop. I started laughing and it became a very fun moment. Marshall then searched for other signs of poop but none were to be found. Hopefully there isn't any...

I have often wondered if people have kids like mine and feel this exhausted at the end of the day, but I realize at the end of the day when I have had 45 min to myself that my kids will love all this and I will probably block a lot of the tiredness and muscle fatigue out.

Homeschooling take 2

So today was Day 2. Intressting day..
I find that I blow through what we are to cover in like an hour. He wasn't about the letters today, but he liked the Math workbook.
I guess it is strange because I know since it is one on one, we do not have to spend a lot of time on things but it seems so fast. We even drew the seasons and did some "cave drawings" since the history is that early.
I don't have any concerns yet because he is so young and I am just happy that he is intressted in some of it. But today was a short day, that is for sure.
Going to the gym later, I'm sure they will have fun jumping around there.

1st day of school

So for those who don't know, we decided to give homeschooling a shot. There are a few reason, mainly being flexibility. We are going to try for a couple months and if it works great, if it too much, then he will go back to preschool and start K in the fall.
But the first day went really well. The only problem is that he actually wants to do A LOT. I have to laugh sometimes because we interact with them SO much, if we want a break, we cannot have one. As I write this, I have to tell him to give mommy a moment. I of course do not mind doing things with my kids, but it is exhausting to go all day with it.
Today we spent about 4 hours doing things together and I spent 1 hour cleaning/ laundry/computer and now it is almost time to start dinner.
I guess I wonder how people can just ignore their kids and not interact with them at all. I am not saying that I am the best parent by any means, but I just cannot get myself to not listen to my child when they want me to do something.
Pretty sure that I am also just exhausted because I am 28 weeks pregnant, that really might have something to do with it!

Halloween Fun

Here a couple pics from Halloween.

The Sugar

So I am now 28 weeks pregnant and I have been a confirmed prego diabetic for about 3 weeks now. Recently I have had to go on insulin, awesome. Luckily it is only a small amount and only at night that I need to take it. But I have a feeling that it will increase the fatter I get with baby.
It stinks when you are pregnant because even though you have control, you don't have total control. I cannot regulate the hormones going on therefore I have to go on insulin even though I am following the diet and exercise. Luckily, it goes away, so I have been told.
Still, it pisses me off. I know it is irritating to the other half as well since he was born super healthy and I think he feels I am pushing a diet onto him. I'm not, I just let him know certain things that I know cannot be in the house since I will eat it. But he has been great in the pregnancy so far. He has helped a lot since I may not always feel the greatest. We will see how the following few weeks go...
